We utilize custom designed systems to transfer your film in order to preserve your 8mm, Super8 or 16mm film, for a very high quality digital transfer to DVD.. We digitize and author a DVD-R that is compatible with the majority of DVD players presently on the market. Our MPEG streams for DVD are 6000kbs average, which is higher than normal DVD quality…that’s why we fit up to 1 hour and 30 minutes on a DVD.
We now offer full menu systems similar to DVD’s you buy at the store, for no additional charge! These menus include Chapter Marks along with a stunning theme to complete your transfer. Editing from a DVD copy isn’t recommended as the film has been compressed when built for DVD meaning that if you decide to rip your film from the DVD to edit, the quality is already much lower than the transfer we did for you. If you’ve edited your film and decide to output it to DVD again, then it will go through the compressions again lowering the quality even more.

Whether it be from an old record/LP, cassette or micro cassette, at Toronto Home Movies we convert your old audio into new digital formats so you can enjoy them at your own convenience. You have the option to have your audio transferred directly to your hard drive, USB flash drive, CD or DVD data disc in either .mp3 or .wav formats. Or you can choose to have it uploaded directly onto an audio CD.
If you choose this option, we can also provide you with custom graphics for the case and disc. If you want your audio converted into a format or output medium that is not indicated here, let us know and we will be happy to accommodate your request.
For photos, slides and negatives, we upload digital images in four standard formats: .jpeg, .tiff and .psd. From there your images can be uploaded directly to your hard drive, a DVD data disc, a USB drive or a 25 gb single layered or 50 gb duel layered Blu-Ray data disc. For DVD’s you will be given the option to add custom graphics on the disc and the case.
