A packaga production is for those customers who are not too concerned with choosing the exact clips. They would like our editors to "cut" the footage down to only useable footage. You may request 40%, 50% or 60% reduction. Any more may cost additional. Once the footage has been trimmed an appointment is made and up to 5 guests can come into the studio for the design meeting and to review the film. The editor, a camera person and a producer will be on hand.

In this type of editing, you sit with an editor who has all your footage prepared on a timeline. Working together you choose what footage stays and what goes. Expect that depending on the amount of footage you have, you should be able to narrow it down by at least 50%. So 5 hours of footage can be reduced to 2.5 hrs on the first pass. We are working faster that real time so "cutting" should take about 75% of the time of the full length footage. In other words. If you have 5 hours of footage, expect to spend 3-4 hours cutting it down.

Once you have only the best clips the editor will resplice it all together. Many customers at this point will create title pages and voice overs to explain different locations, dates and the people involved.

Finally the video is burned onto a DVD and copies are made.
