120mm & 35mm Slides Scanning

Our customers benefit from our unique process where we hand clean slides, negatives or photographs to perfection. This process takes a little longer, but it ensures the quality of the final product will be pristine and to our very high expectations every time. This process usually overlooked by many other studios, giving a lower quality product. Once your slides, negatives or photographs are perfectly cleaned we INDIVIDUALLY manually scan each slide, negatives or photograph to ensure exceptional, professional results. The final result is brilliant. Again, the process may take a little longer but the quality and final result is what makes us the best in Canada. Our reproduction work is world famous with Museums, Fortune 500 companies, and professional photographers as clients.

Our team of Adobe Photoshop experts, maintain the strictest standards, the results are always tremendously superior to a lower transfer system.  Superior quality is what we expect in our product and service and it is exactly what we offer, nothing less.

In comparison to other studios,

  • We Hand Clean each slide individually, while others use an auto feeder.
  • We individually scan each slide by hand, while other Studios use faster scanning which is poorer quality.
  • We custom edit every slide in Photoshop, while others just use software auto correct.
  • We offer perfect guaranteed quality, while others offer no guarantee at all.

For many, the idea that photos were taken with the photographer manually measuring light, manually set the aperture and shutter speed and final focusing manually is unbelievable. However, until the 1980's that is exactly what happened. If you had to take a photo and were shooting in different lighting conditions, there was a dial that had to be set. If not set correctly your photo would not turn out. For the really young person, can you imagine having to wait a week to have the film processed? For the everyday consumer shooting photograph onto slides and then projecting the image was the equivalent.

Slide photography was extremely popular due tot he fact the once the photographic slides were processed you could then use a slide-projector to "project" the image onto a wall. Slide film was the preview of what videography of today.

35mm slides

35mm slides are mounted individually with either plastic or cardboard holders. This allows them to be inserted into wither a single slide holder projector or in the most common situation carousel slide projector. Your 35mm slides would be put in a specific order so that as the carousel slide projector displays each image, it is doing so in the order the photos were taken. The 3 most common carousels hold 80slides, 100 slides or 120 slides.

35mm slides can be taken with any photographic camera designed to shoot 35mm sized film or slide film. The main difference (beside the slide being a reverse negative) is the slides have very little developmental latitude. Measure your lighting incorrect and your slide film will show it. The lab technicians processing your slide film will not be able to adjust. Remember there was no such thing as Photoshop in the 1970s!

120mm slides

Used mainly by professionals for product shots and portraits, the advantage or 120mm slides over 35mm was the huge step up in quality. Super sharp, amazing colours. Our team of photographic editors will ensure that the full dynamic range of colour and light will be retained during the analog to digital conversions. 120mm slides are usually unmounted. Our team usually scans them in batches of 4 then carefully crops out each individual image file ensures there is no dust or visible dirt and exports as either jpeg or tiff depending on the customers order.
